Meet Certified Professional Inspector
John Gentile is certified by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI). As a Certified Professional Inspector (CPI), John has fulfilled a demanding array of educational requirements and is expected to continue his education by participating in ongoing trainings that keeps him up-to-date on the latest industry standards.
John is known for his people skills, attention to detail, and clear communication. He is acutely aware of the major responsibility that comes with being a home inspector. His integrity and personable nature put clients at ease and makes them feel comfortable asking questions and getting the most out of their inspection and inspection report. He considers himself “old-fashioned” because of his emphasis on relationship-building and taking his time to do the job right. Says John, “If my customers or a realtor wants someone who will do a quick walkthrough with a flashlight, I’m not the guy for them.”

John’s decades of hands-on mechanical experience allow him to quickly and accurately identify problems without making mountains out of molehills. His mechanical inclinations were first nurtured by his father, who worked as a tool and dye maker. After high school, John joined the U.S. Navy, where his engineering prowess was put to the test repairing jet engines. He later spent three decades as a maintenance mechanic and manager in the plastics industry. There he learned and mastered the complexities of hydraulics, single- and three-phase electrics, pneumatics, part fabrication, programmable logic controllers, and industrial plumbing. For two years, he managed a small molding shop, where he gained experience performing quality inspections. He eventually oversaw and was intimately involved in the complete retrofit of three facilities, building metal and wood stud walls, hanging drywall, laying tile, working with plumbing and electrical systems, and much more. All of these skills that John developed are applicable in home inspections and lead him to a career as a certified home inspector.
John moved to Florida from Pennsylvania, and he enjoys meeting locals as well as area newcomers. He is a certified Law Enforcement Armorer, which means he repairs firearms used by law enforcement. John also enjoys boating and jet skiing in the incredible Gulf waters, restoring classic cars, and building remote control airplanes and helicopters.
